Face of Jules — Internal Website Overhaul for Performance and Stability At Blue Avispa, we always aim to ensure that the quality of a website reflects the quality of the business it represents. For Face of Jules, our work focused on an internal overhaul, improving the site’s stability, speed, and mobile experience without performing a full redesign. This project was not about aesthetics. The previous site was built on a template with redundant, outdated plugins, which eventually caused errors that stopped the site from rendering. Our goal was to create a reliable, high-performing foundation while making some minor visual improvements suggested by the business owner. The Challenges Reliance on a template with excessive, outdated plugins Errors and warnings that accumulated over time, risking downtime Suboptimal performance on both desktop and mobile Mobile aesthetics and user experience needed improvement and a mobile load time that was many times over the recommendations made by Google Templates often appear convenient but rely heavily on third-party plugins, are poorly maintained, and lack flexibility for long-term growth. We only deliver custom-built solutions designed to scale and perform efficiently. Our Approach Instead of applying patch fixes, we performed a full internal technical overhaul: Removed redundant plugins and outdated code Addressed performance bottlenecks to improve speed and reliability Optimized the site for mobile devices using insights from Google Page Speed and browser tools Implemented solutions to reduce errors and warnings, ensuring a stable foundation We were able to massively reduce load time, fix mobile usability, stabilize the website and .. While remaking the website (round 1) we resolved: 79 errors 3,450 warnings Further updates will take the errors (missing images) down to 0 errors and further reduce warnings. Performance Improvements The site now delivers a faster, smoother experience for visitors, with particular improvements on mobile devices.
